Day 1 in Taiwan: Taipei City Tour

Last January 9 our first travel of the year happened in the Heart of Asia also known as TAIWAN!!! Everything was planned by ME (taps self) and I'm really happy that it ended a success. Our trip happened last January 9-13. We had 3 full days to roam around Taiwan (not only Taipei) and we made the most out of our stay, rain or shine! I planned and booked everything for 15 people- from the airfare, hotel, tours, itinerary etc. I booked our hotel through booking.com and chose Taipei M Hotel because it's located in the city (very accessible) and has the nearest landmarks, train stations and night markets.

Moving to our first day, our first day is meant for Taipei City Tour. We booked our 3 days tour with "Have Fun Taiwan Tour" and I'm really satisfied and happy with their service. They have the best set of drivers (Hi Jack!) and tourist guides I've ever encountered among all the travels that I had. I showed to them all the places and attractions that I want to see in Taipei and they made my 1st day itinerary possible! Who would have thought that we can travel 10 attractions in Taipei in just one whole day?!! Looks impossible but we did! :)
First stop: Presidential Building. We were only able to have a quick group shot because there were guards roaming around who prohibited us to stay longer in the place.
Second Stop: Longshan Temple. I think this is the most well known temple in Taipei because there were a lot of people when we went there. The temple is very old, 300 years old according to what I've read, and it surpassed a bombing raid during World War II. The temple still looks beautiful as it is being taken cared of by some locals.
Third Stop: Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. This is the most iconic place in Taipei and the biggest park I've seen. I'm really hoping we could have something like this in the Philippines! Haha! Ang gandaaa!
I wasn't able to watch the changing of the guards here because I chose to spend the whole time taking pictures (but my other cousins did watched!)
4th Stop: Grand Hyatt Taipei. I didn't put this in our itinerary but Jack brought us here. Maybe he thought this is the Grand Hotel Taipei that I'm talking about. Haha! Anyway, thanks Jack for taking us here! :)
Fifth Stop: Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall. This place was built for the founder of modern China, Dr. Sun Yat Sen. This is where I had my first sight of the changing of the guards. This place also has one of the best view of Taipei 101.
Sixth Stop. Taipei 101. I'm sure everyone knows Taipei 101! It's the tallest building in Taiwan and 2nd tallest in the world next to Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The first 5 floors of this building are meant for shopping while the top most floor is the observatory. We didn't went to the observatory as it will take up much time and another thing is that, the oldies from our family didn't want to go.
We also had our lunch at 101. I didn't know what restaurants these foods came from but the foods that we ordered were lush and savory.
Seventh Stop: Martyr's Shrine. This is my favorite among all the places that we visited during our city tour. The place is also huge but is more serene than Chiang Kai Shek. There were less tourists and it's way colder here. We also had our second sight of the changing of the guards during the time we went there.
Outfit. I've received a lot of compliments on my first day outfit through instagram and facebook. They were telling me how cute and posh my fur coat is and how fab my boots are! I KNOW RIGHT!!! These two are my favorite winter pieces from Shein. These pieces are the cutest additions in my closet. I know mukha lang pang porma yung fur coat pero promise nakatulong din sya pang kontra sa lamig haha! These 2 products are both recommended so if you want to purchase these two items you can visit Shein site for more details.

Knee high boots from Shein- $40 or Php 2,080
Faux Fur Coat from Shein- $33 or Php 1,700

Aside from that you can also enjoy an extra 10% off discount when you purchase more than $60 by using the discount code: Q1miss10 upon check out. This is valid from January 1-31.
Eight Stop: Shilin's Residence. This is the former residence of the late President of the Republic of China. This place houses a lot of flowers and still parks. My favorite spot is the giraffe playing the piano structure in the middle of the park. I knew I have a picture here. I just don't know which camera it was taken. :(
Ninth Stop: National Palace Museum. Another iconic and huge place in Taipei. This museum houses almost 700,000 pieces of ancient Chinese imperial artifacts and artworks making it one of the largest in the world. My favorite family picture was taken here and for sure it will be one of those pictures that my mom will print and display in the house.
Twinning in fur!
Tenth Stop. Grand Hotel Taipei. Last but definitely not the least attraction is one of the largest and luxurious hotel in Taiwan. It it where most foreign meetings are held. There were actually a lot of different nationalities when we went there. The place is huge! It looks like a casino haha.

Our first day tour was the most tiring. We went to Ximending night market after the tour- had our dinner and a little pasalubong shopping. We surely had a deep and sound sleep during that night.

Watch out for our second day tour! I'm sure you don't want to miss the thrilling and other side of Taiwan! :)

xoxo,
